26 Months

Dear Sugarplum,

You are now 26 months. Alhamdullillah. The past month has been a busy one as we ushered in the new year. Before the year ended, we had a "Family Day" at Tasek with Uncle Ayih & his family as well as a few other uncles & aunties. You spent the morning playing with Abang Aiman while mummy & daddy did other activities. The day before new years eve, we did grocery shopping & you helped mummy alot by pushing your own trolley. Soon I'll be able to pass you grocery money & you can do the shopping. But I think I'll wait till you know how to read first.

Mummy's Little Helper

The next day we made a flying visit to A'ee Vivi's house where you played with Abang Irshad. On the way home in the car, you blurted out, "Like abang Irshad, Like Daddy Jis". hehe, seems like you now know how to call your Uncle Aziz. Yayy! We spent the New year at Mama's house in Tampoi where she had a big gathering with lots of yummy food & good music. You spent most of the night with your cousins!

With Abang Irshad

Unfortunately, while we ushered in the new year, you ushered in a bloody lip. I guess thats what you get for jumping on mummy's bed like nobody's business and not watching your step. What was memorable was the way you told your Uncle Didih about the 'event'. Your story was short & simple, "Disana mummy woom, jump-jump, Fud-dun then akit, beeding, mau ice." I think only I understood your short story about your bloody lip. hehe. But nevertheless I give you an A for effort!

We were all sitting in the den a couple of weeks ago watching TV and of course you were minding your own business playing on your slide and swing. Daddy and mummy were amazed at how you suddenly sat on your swing, fastened the seatbelt and said "So we Safe!" I guess watching Dora does have a huge affect on kids. The following day, your new Trunki suitcase arrived! Yay! Mummy & Daddy are hoping to take you on a plane, as you requested a couple of months ago. You spent all night 'testing' it out. You absolutely love your new ride! hehe

The Trunki Ride

You've been a very lucky girl this month as two of your aunties bought you footwear and Grandma gave you a collection of figurines, dinosaurs (your favourite) and some other toys from Uncle Azim's collection. Your Mami'Nah bought you bunny slippers and your Mami'mimi bought you a pair of ruby-wizard of Oz-shoes. You could not stop wearing them in the house. Eventually you did after I told you they were special shoes and you can only wear them during "Chinese Hari Raya". hahaha.

New PJ's & Bunny Slippers

Your toddler group has started again and as usual you always enjoy those couple of hours at ISB playing and seeing Baby Zane. On the way home the other day, since mummy's backseat is packed with all sorts of your entertainment stuff, you picked up the children's encyclopedia on animals and flipped the pages. You then asked your Nanny to find the picture of a "Ka'roo". It took us a while to realize what you meant. Rupa-rupa nya 'Kangaroo'...haha. I cracked up laughing like a hyena when I found out what 'Ka'roo' meant.

Alhamdullillah you are slowly learning your shapes and colours. So far, what mummy has observed is that you definitely know pink, your favourite colour & green, another favourite. As for shapes, you can differentiate between a circle and a triangle. I love how you say the words though. "Sikul" & "Tiangul". You also know "Scare" which is square! hehe

We spotted a Dinosaur

Two days ago, we were in mummy's room and we put on the "dolphin" cartoon. As we watched the dolphin swim in the sea and surf the waves, you suddenly said, "Mia want swim dolphin." I have been scratching my head wondering how am I ever going to fulfill that request of yours. Maybe when you are a little older, we can do that in Singapore at the Dolphin Lagoon at Sentosa Island. But you wont be able to that till you are 6 years old. How I wish we had a zoo here in Brunei. Maybe one day my love.

Daddy Daughter Day Out

Today you went to the office with Daddy and of course you decided you would like to be all dressed up. I prepared your top & leggings and you said, "Ollow Daddy ofis, pakai 'ticken baju and pants, okay mummy!" Then I told you to get your shoes in the cupboard. I told you to get your sport shoes BUT you came back to me with your dressy black shoes. So I went to your shoe cupboard and took out your sport shoes, you said, "Go Daddy ofis." sternly while carrying your black shoes. Goes to show that you want to dress smart when you go to daddy's office! hehe

T'was the night Before Christmas.....

It was the night before christmas when we actually decided to put up the tree. X'mas this year was celebrated on a down-low. Very minimal on gifts compared to last year. Grandma made her spread of x'mas lunch consisting of roast turkey, lamb, roast potatoes, mashed carrot & turnip and sprouts. Before we left for Grandma's house, I set up your gift from Mummy & Daddy. A swing & slide set. When you came downstairs & saw it under the tree, the look on your face was priceless! You seemed shocked & happy at the same time. Iski lagi tu! hehehe

25 months

Dear Princess,

Another month has passed. Alhamdullillah. Since you have turned two, you have become more 'belabih'. You are definitely your daddy's girl. Again, your musical talents showed themselves. You started saying 'Baa Baa black sheep' in the car and singing it, well parts of it.

I love communicating with you now since you know how to string words together. You still get jumbled up with certain words, like when you are having dinner and you want me to feed you, you would say "Want mummy feed you". I think its because I always ask, "Do you want me to feed you?" So now, we are teaching you to say, "Want mummy to feed Mia". Another milestone I am proud of is the fact that you are now officially 'bilingual'. Pandai sudah cakap melayu!!!! Yayyy!

The other day I was playing with the fridge magnets and put them on my eyes. It really crackled you up as you started laughing and called out to your daddy to share with him this funny episode. "Daddy, look mummy".

Unfortunately, you have caught a bad word and started saying it. It broke my heart that I had to discipline you. But if I didn't do so, you would think it was okay to say that word. After a couple of days, you finally said "Oh No" instead of the 'S' word. Thank God!

We often pass the NBT Toy Kingdom decorations and the other day you said, Look Daddy Snowman. I was absolutely shocked. Normally you would say "Mas tree all the way", but this time you said snowman. It clicked to me that you probably learnt that from Dora, your latest cartoon craze!...

So, my Princess, before you know it another month will pass by and mummy will be writing about your other latest antics. Learn away my love, learn away~~~

Mia's Birthday Celebrations

Dear Birthday Girl,

You are one lucky angel. What was suppose to be a quiet evening dinner with cake afterwards turned out to be a spontaneous mini party celebration. Mummy made steamboat that night and bought you a little cake. Then Grandpa & Grandma wanted to come over to give you your gift as well as Daddy Shaz & family and A'ee Vivi & family. Of course on top of that, you also got lovely greetings from those who love you on FaceBook!

Then the following Sunday, Mama hosted a little gathering with the family to have DimSum at Emperor's Court in your honour. Unfortunately, mummy forgot all about your cake, as your GrandAuntie Siti had passed away a day after your birthday. Then the following week, Your Mami'Nah was so sweet to organize & host a Pool party for you & your cousins. I think because you are the Masri's youngest princess, you totally get spoiled to bits! hehehe...
