29 months Today!

My Darling Daughter,

Another month has passed and your antics just keep on getting cuter & funnier. At the end of last month, we were heading out to see Abby and as we left the house, daddy was retuning home. As we passed him, I rolled down the window and told him where we were off to. You said "Bye Daddy" followed by, " Daddy Bekayful okay, have titak there!" So young yet so concerned for your daddy and the cicaks on the door. I found that to be too cute!

Your character is definitely blooming. During that same week, you & daddy were having dinner in the TV room. Since you had your little table, daddy had his dinner on your portable tray. When you saw that, you too wanted to use the tray. I told you daddy is the boss, let him borrow it for a while. He will return it after he has finished. You reluctantly agreed and said okay. Then you looked at your daddy and said, "Eh, you ah!"....macam mummy! Lol

Another funny episode was when I overheard you pretend talk on the phone. Your conversation went a little something like this; "Hello, Abang Irshad?, Hi Abang, Do you want to talk? Okay, Talk lah...bla bla bla....okay abang irshad, I go sleep now, good night, okay bye, bah ok bah bah bye, bah bah!"....so many "bahs"! hahaha. I also overheard you once having a romantic conversation with 'someone', and said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry bah, I love you"....I have no idea where you got that from!

Earlier this month, Daddy went to KL so to entertain you, that weekend I brought you to the circus. Well, it wasn't an actual animal circus, more towards, juggling and high wire acts. That sunday, we went to Mama's house, then to see Grandpa then to JP to see the acts. We saw one man juggling fire and you said "Ooo..nice. Want to try!" So berani!

Mummy has come to realize you have taken after your father. You love music & songs. You have your own taste in music. I was listening to the radio in the car and this song came on; Christina Perri's Jar of hearts, when it ended you said "again". Belabih. I took you to a wedding this month. Auntie Yati. A friend of mummy's and family friends with mummy'nah. It was at the Polo club and we had to park far away. Luckily they provided a shuttle bus for us. You enjoyed the ride and kept on saying, "Like the bus." In the hall, we saw Auntie Yati all dressed up on the projector screen. You made me smile when you said, "That Princess kan, mummy."

Here are some of the phrases that you have said and have stuck in my head;
"I no pandai", your reply after I told you to do something.
"I cannot", another reply after telling you to do something.
"My hand sakit, its too panas.", when we were in the car on a hot hot day.

Insyallah, by next month you will be potty trained. We are in the process of trying now and hope you ace this milestone love. The less pampers you use baby, the more toys you can buy!!!

First Trip to the Beach

Mummy & Daddy decided to finally bring you to the beach & let you feel the fresh sea breeze on your face. Mummy wanted you to experience playing in the sand and not think of it as being yucky! We also wanted you explore & appreciate one of the wonders of the world, the sea. At first you were quite cautious with the little waves splashing onto your feet. You kept on running away. But eventually, when your daddy was beside you, you started to enjoy the water and ran around like a headless chicken. All Mummy could say was "Berani eh!" I think if you had your own way and if you could swim, you'd probably start swimming towards the sea. On our way home, you said, "Mummy, next time go beach again...". I'm glad you enjoyed it my love.

28 Months Today!

Alhamdullillah....

Anak mummy mikin basar sudah!!!!! Badan pun basar...especially your yummy cheeks & thighs which mummy cannot resist to bite! 28 months today, and nyanyah nya never-ending. Daddy & mummy always smile at each other when you form a sentence and sometimes when you reply back.

Earlier this month just before mummy's birthday, mummy went away with my friends. This meant you were free to go anywhere you wanted. Of course your Mami'nah & your cousins insisted you stayed with them. Mami'Nah said that you were a good girl throughout your stay there. Before mummy left, I asked you what you wanted from KK. You said you wanted a 'Watch', 'Purple colour, ok'. I searched high & low and actually found you a purple watch, and it had your favourite cartoon character on it, Dora! Apparently, while you were out shopping with Mami'Nah, you told her about this particular purple watch that you asked mummy to buy for you so mami'nah said that she would buy it for you. You replied "No, mummy aeroplane, buy Mia purple watch." Mami'Nah still spoilt you and bought you some books, a golf set and colouring books. Thank you Mami'Nah!

After mummy's trip, we went over to see your Grandpa who hadn't seen you during the weekend. Your Grandma took out her Blood Pressure machine and you naturally started handling it as if you were a doctor. Your Grandma now has high hopes of becoming a doctor. Your Grandma spoilt you the other day. We went to Jungle Gym as you requested, just the two of us. I wonder how your nanny does it. Two hours in that play area can really exhaust you. Grandma came and we decided to check out the Jubilee park. Before that we stopped and bought Donuts. The park was quiet at first and there were only a few kids around. You had a go at the slide and the climbing thing. You were actually pretty good at climbing. Definitely your father's daughter!

Our latest questionaire game is the 'Boy or Girl' game. Alhamdullillah you can differentiate between boys & girls. I love when we play competing games and you said "Aween"...which is "I win". I think its just too cute the way you say it! hehe

You have also said many words that I haven't heard you say before. For instance "Waterfall". We were at the Mall and parked near the fountain, when you saw it, you said "waterfall'. I'm guessing it was because the water was pouring out which looked like a waterfall. Another word that popped out of your mouth when we were watching a 'Firework' scene on TV was "Fire Yerk"....which of course was fireworks...haha. The best word ever though this month that put a smile on my face was when we were building blocks and you successfully made a castle, you then said "Awesome".....Now that was a first!

Another first was Movie night. You watched your first movie at the cinema. We watched 'Rango' with Uncle Ayih, Auntie bibi & the kids. About an hour and a half through the movie, you got abit restless and started chasing abang aiman in the theatre. Mummy now knows that next movie we watch we have to make sure it isn't 2 hours long.

My sweet pea, prepare yourself to travel as daddy has finally made you your passport! As a treat, daddy will be bringing us to Miri tomorrow. Your first trip abroad. Daddy promises to bring you to the Zoo in Singapore at the end of the year. I know you are excited as you keep on saying, "See Zeba, see lion"....hehehe

27 Months

Mia & Grandpa

My dear sweetpea,

You are so smart my 27 month old baby! Last month, just after you turned 26 months, we were at the petrol station and you surprised me. You were looking at the signage on the wall, pointed to the symbol of the key and said "open door", then you pointed to the crossed out picture of a mobile phone and said "Off phone". So Pintar!

At the end of last month, you attended Abang Rayyan's birthday party at Riverview. Mummy had to host mummys' friends bridal shower at home so daddy dropped you & your nanny off. At the end of the day, I picked you up. In the car, mummy was discussing dinner menu's with your nanny and asked whether we should cook for dinner or not. Since we (me, your daddy & nanny) were full from eating all day, we decided not to cook for dinner, then you blurted out, "I eating cake!" We figured you were telling us you were also not hungry as you had cake at the party.

That night you slept early but woke up in the middle of the night and told daddy all about your day. You said "Simming with Kaka Ten-ten, Den slide with kaka Ten-ten, abang Irshad and Kaka Risha." Then you said this, "I simming, bubbles, Ooo hot." It took me a while to click but I finally realized you were referring to the Jacuzzi! Haha

News Flash! You now know how to put on and take off your crocs. As for your clothes, you can easily take them off, but getting dressed is still difficult for you. Yayy for you!

Earlier this month was a very tiring time for mummy. You had a very high fever, recovered then had a runny nose followed by a cough then ended with vomitting in my car, twice! Nevertheless, after your high fever, you became more fluent with your words and talked non-stop. Grandma said your Datuk Cacin used to say, babies usually would get more pandai (at something) after a fever and he was right. Al-Fatihah for Datuk. I wish he was here to see you. Bringing down your fever was quite a difficult task as you did not like using the 'KoolFever' strip. Whenever you saw it, you would say, "Its ok, don need, ok mummy." Belabih much! But one good thing is that you willing took your medicine. Your Mami'mimi gave us some children's telenol strawberry-flavoured tablets and you seem to love them. You kept on saying, "Mummy, I take stawbeli obat." The first night of your fever, you woke up and started singing the ABC song, repeatedly. I think this went on for an hour or so. Because you were so sick, I asked you if you wanted me to buy you a "Twilight Turtle". I explained to you that this Turtle was special but you would have to sleep in your own bed to accompany him to sleep. If you switched him on, you would be able to see the moon & stars on the ceiling. You were so excited and said yes, you wanted the turtle & yes you would sleep in your own bed (which didn't last long! haha) I told you I would buy it for you after I finish work then you said, "Mummy buy turtle, moon and star, okay." The moment I got home, the first thing you said was, "Mummy, where my turtle?" Such a cheeky bugger! haha

Mr. Twilight Turtle

Nowadays I like pointing to the mole on my right palm and ask you what it is, you would say "Tahi Rarat"..hehe...and if I ask you why can't we touch dogs, you would say "Hanam". The other Sunday we met up with Grandma, Granpa & Uncle Azim at Mamih for brunch. When we sat down, you saw some cats & kittens outside, you amazed me when you suddenly said, "Awwwww, so koot." You crack me up most of the time with your cute self-made sentences. At least you are trying baby, thats what counts. We were writing the other day and you wanted to have a go, you confidently said, "I Want to turn Me", which I assume was 'My turn'. You now say "Me turn, me turn". Finally, you know how to correctly complete my sentence, When we are at the traffic lights, I would say, "Green for" and you would say "Go" then I'd say Red for "Stop". Yayy!

As I said before, since your fever, your word knowledge has increased. A new word I've heard come from you is "Storybook". Daddy has a storybook application on his phone and one night at the dinner table while daddy was having dinner, you asked to borrow his phone, you said, "I want see storybook, ok". Another new word is "Kan". You would say, "Auntie sakit, kan" or "Cat smelly kan"...haha...anak melayu :) Owh, and your latest sentence is "Noooo...NOT Mia" or "Noooo...not mummy."

My beautiful princess, you never cease to make me laugh or smile. Sometimes, especially now, I may scold you and it may seem that I am angry with you. Sometimes its because I am trying to make sure you are disciplined and you grow up knowing right from wrong. I hope you never hate me for it. You must know though, no matter what, mummy will always love you!

Buddies for life!

First Weekend of February

Dear Amellia,

We had an eventful weekend last week. Since Thursday was Chinese New Year, Mummy took Friday off too so I could have a long weekend with you. It was a busy weekend for both of us. On Chinese New Year, you went CNY visiting with Mami Nah & Daddy Shaz. I think you had a jolly good time as you were fast asleep by the time you came home around Maghrib.

The following day was a big day for your Auntie Wiwi. She was finally tying the knot. On this day you also got to meet your Auntie Farisah. You wore your cute little jubah which Mami'mimi bought. Though it was a tad bit too big, you looked so cute...very muslimah (without the hijab)

On Saturday, since we had nothing to do and daddy wasn't home, we went to Jungle Gym for a couple of hours then met up with Grandma for Tea. On Sunday, we met up with Grandpa, Grandma & Uncle Azim at Mamih for Brunch then dashed home to get ready for Kaka Zara's 6th Birthday at RBRC Poolside.

26 Months

Dear Sugarplum,

You are now 26 months. Alhamdullillah. The past month has been a busy one as we ushered in the new year. Before the year ended, we had a "Family Day" at Tasek with Uncle Ayih & his family as well as a few other uncles & aunties. You spent the morning playing with Abang Aiman while mummy & daddy did other activities. The day before new years eve, we did grocery shopping & you helped mummy alot by pushing your own trolley. Soon I'll be able to pass you grocery money & you can do the shopping. But I think I'll wait till you know how to read first.

Mummy's Little Helper

The next day we made a flying visit to A'ee Vivi's house where you played with Abang Irshad. On the way home in the car, you blurted out, "Like abang Irshad, Like Daddy Jis". hehe, seems like you now know how to call your Uncle Aziz. Yayy! We spent the New year at Mama's house in Tampoi where she had a big gathering with lots of yummy food & good music. You spent most of the night with your cousins!

With Abang Irshad

Unfortunately, while we ushered in the new year, you ushered in a bloody lip. I guess thats what you get for jumping on mummy's bed like nobody's business and not watching your step. What was memorable was the way you told your Uncle Didih about the 'event'. Your story was short & simple, "Disana mummy woom, jump-jump, Fud-dun then akit, beeding, mau ice." I think only I understood your short story about your bloody lip. hehe. But nevertheless I give you an A for effort!

We were all sitting in the den a couple of weeks ago watching TV and of course you were minding your own business playing on your slide and swing. Daddy and mummy were amazed at how you suddenly sat on your swing, fastened the seatbelt and said "So we Safe!" I guess watching Dora does have a huge affect on kids. The following day, your new Trunki suitcase arrived! Yay! Mummy & Daddy are hoping to take you on a plane, as you requested a couple of months ago. You spent all night 'testing' it out. You absolutely love your new ride! hehe

The Trunki Ride

You've been a very lucky girl this month as two of your aunties bought you footwear and Grandma gave you a collection of figurines, dinosaurs (your favourite) and some other toys from Uncle Azim's collection. Your Mami'Nah bought you bunny slippers and your Mami'mimi bought you a pair of ruby-wizard of Oz-shoes. You could not stop wearing them in the house. Eventually you did after I told you they were special shoes and you can only wear them during "Chinese Hari Raya". hahaha.

New PJ's & Bunny Slippers

Your toddler group has started again and as usual you always enjoy those couple of hours at ISB playing and seeing Baby Zane. On the way home the other day, since mummy's backseat is packed with all sorts of your entertainment stuff, you picked up the children's encyclopedia on animals and flipped the pages. You then asked your Nanny to find the picture of a "Ka'roo". It took us a while to realize what you meant. Rupa-rupa nya 'Kangaroo'...haha. I cracked up laughing like a hyena when I found out what 'Ka'roo' meant.

Alhamdullillah you are slowly learning your shapes and colours. So far, what mummy has observed is that you definitely know pink, your favourite colour & green, another favourite. As for shapes, you can differentiate between a circle and a triangle. I love how you say the words though. "Sikul" & "Tiangul". You also know "Scare" which is square! hehe

We spotted a Dinosaur

Two days ago, we were in mummy's room and we put on the "dolphin" cartoon. As we watched the dolphin swim in the sea and surf the waves, you suddenly said, "Mia want swim dolphin." I have been scratching my head wondering how am I ever going to fulfill that request of yours. Maybe when you are a little older, we can do that in Singapore at the Dolphin Lagoon at Sentosa Island. But you wont be able to that till you are 6 years old. How I wish we had a zoo here in Brunei. Maybe one day my love.
