Four Months Old Today

Taken during your photo shoot

Baby Mia Balancing

My Dear Baby Mia,

Happy Birthday sweetiepie! You're 4 months old today and it's buy-a-prezzie-for-Mia day as well as Monthly portrait day. Well we can buy your present today, but I think we will do your monthly portrait on Saturday.

My sweet little angel, firstly I think you must know that you always brighten up my days and make life even more worth living. I don't think I could a day without seeing you smile. Recently you have been quiet though, not as chatty as you once were and it got me a little worried. I sensed maybe you were bored with just Oohing and Aahing, then a couple of days ago, you started squealing, yes my love, you squeal in conversations and its just adorable. Today was the cutest though, we were sitting on the bed and your Grandma started talking with me and suddenly you started squealing and coo-ing trying to join in to the conversation.

Last week, you could officially hold your soft toys, especially your rattle and change hands too. You do the same with your pacifier. One evening last week you started showing off to mummy how you could take out your dummy and put it back in your mouth. Although putting it back in your mouth is not something you have mastered yet, I assure you not to worry my love, practice makes perfect and for sure in a couple of days time it'll be as easy as ABC to put in and take out your dummy.

Earlier this week, on the way home from Grandma's house, you learnt how to become a copycat. As usual on the drive home before your little cat nap in the car, you would chit chat with mummy by coo-ing, Ooo-ing and aahing or just blowing bubbles. I started pulling tongues and blowing bubbles at the same time and the funniest thing is that you did exactly the same. I'm convinced that your development is either right-on-track or just advanced for your age.
At home, while mummy did some chores, I sat you in your bouncing cradle chair and to my surprise you got all excited. I think that since you could reach your hanging soft toys on your play mat at your Grandma's house, you were excited to try and reach your hanging toys on your chair too. Without any hassle, you reached for the three soft toys which proves your hand-eye coordination has definitely improved. Later on, I found one of the hanging toys beside you. I smiled proudly knowing you were able to detach the toy too.

My baby, you are growing up fast but try not grow up too fast, okay my love.

xoxo

An afternoon of Modelling

My little Model

Baby Mia did a bit of modeling for Amy and Chee last Saturday. The pictures turned out great and the lil'baby model was oh so good. She only cried twice and that was to take a nap. They spent like 5 hours taking photos and I must say, the outcome was great.

Stimulating

My Princess Mia

About a month ago, Baby Mia started sleeping from 9pm to 6am. It was such a great achievement for her, as well as me. I also bought the Baby Monitor around that time so now we have been sleeping in our own bed (instead of in the TV room). Since then, there have been odd days where she sleeps earlier, like around 8pm and sometimes even later like at 10pm and she also woken up in the middle of the night for a feed. But most of the time she sleeps right through to the morning. I've also realized that she loves playing with her hair when she feeds, as if she's feeling the texture. Maybe, because of that her hair is flattening down. I'm so going to miss her "standing-up" hair.

Mia & her Liza Minelli Look

Lately, since it seems she can see now, she just too excited and playful to take her morning and afternoon naps. Even at night, she just doesn't want to sleep. Mummy says its like there's not enough hours in a day for her and she just wants to learn and grow up faster. Noooo....but anyways, I think I should try to work out a schedule for her to follow for when the maid comes, if she ever does. When she is awake though, I've been trying my best to stimulate her. I've got a couple of toys which have red in them and some that have music. When I'm not at work I like to put her in her bouncing cradle chair which has three types of soft toys hanging from the top. The chair used to be good just for her to sit in, but now, since the toys are in her reach, I believe it somewhat teaches her hand and eye coordination. I love watching her scrutinize either me or my mum when she sees what we wear. I've seen her eye me up and down and give me a look of disapproval because my top was not exciting enough for her to look at. She is a little madame.

Another game I play with her when we have our little quality time together is the "I love you" game. I would draw a heart on her face starting with half a heart on her right side first while saying "I" and then the other half of the heart on her left side while saying "love" and tapping her nose while saying "youuuuu". The response I get from her is hilarious. She actually says "Aaaaaaaaaaaa" which sounds alot like I. So, I guess so far my baby daughter can say I love you, without the love-you part.

Baby Mia is growing up too fast! She went for her "Month 3" Portrait the other day and my oh my, there are afew changes :)
