NINE Months Old Today

All dressed to go out

Dear Baby Mia,

You are nine months old today!!! Its funny how to mummy you turning 9 months seems quite special. I think its because its the same amount of time that you were in mummy's tummy. Yet it seems like the past nine months have flown by quicker compared to the nine months that you were in my tummy. We wont have cake but I think a couple a cupcakes would be better. Less temptation in the fridge since it is the fasting month.

A couple of weeks ago, you cut your first tooth then the second one follow suit. So now u have two teeth..yayy! You no longer have those cute toothless grins..hehe. Daddy finally decided we should re-install the Astro since you really need it so last week once it was re-installed, you have been glued to the PHD Channel. At least you are occupied while mummy & daddy are at work.

About 3 days ago, we were sitting on the couch, watching tv then you started messing with the blanket. You started lifting it up and covering your face then down to reveal your face. A couple of minutes later I realized you were playing "Choop Ba" which just knocked my socks off. It was just soooo cute. It gives mummy such a warm feeling when you do such 'smart' things that I can be proud of. There was this one afternoon last week when me and daddy just left you in your playpen to play then you started babbling the word "bye bye" in that cute voice of yours. At the same time you were waving your hand. I was beyond shocked but your daddy was so proud. I think you are really trying to master your "Bye Bye" as you always wave bye to mummy when I leave for work and you even waved bye to the little girl on the tv who was waving at you. I think this Raya you can just wave to everyone and maybe next year you'll be able to salam everyone.

You still cannot walk yet, thank God! But I feel you're a fast learner and will start walking before you are one years old. Nowadays you like chilling on the couch because you can easily stand up and walk along the couch with the back as support. So basically, by yourself, you can stand up and balance for a minute or so before you fall down. You also know what you want. For instance, if one of us is having a drink, you'll start smacking your lips (with your little toungue out) to indicate you want some.

You learn more everyday baby....

xoxo

Majlis Mandi Belawat & Berdzikir

Alhamdullillah yesterday's event went well. It turned out to be a wonderful day surrounded by close friends & family. Honestly speaking, I had a fantastic time. I was happy. My in laws were there, my family was there, even my grandmother was able to attend. Mia did not cry one bit which made the day even better.

Friday & Saturday were spent doing last minute preps for Sunday. My beloved & I set up the carpets that my mama so generously lent to us in the lounge area on Friday then on Saturday, Mama, Ka'inah and the little munchkins came over to put the gifts into the gifts bags. It was nice having them around making the house feel filled in. Mama then ordered Pizza delivery for everyone for dinner. It just comes to show that even a last minute organized event can be done if everyone chips in a little with their time and effort. Thanks to My mummy, my Mama, my beautiful sister in laws, my sister, my nieces, my hubby...and the rest of the family, the event turned out to be perfect.

While getting ready....

.....Bapa babysat for me...

All done

Sunday morning I quickly dashed to the bridal shop to get last minute costume jewellery for my attire. I then got ready and had Auntie Zaleha do my make up. David Cheok arrived later on. Having David and Auntie Zaleha in the same room brought back memories of my Nikah day. It was nice to get pampered once in a while. Once we were done, my better half, my baby and myself made our way downstairs to the berdzikir ceremony. My beloved brought Mia around the male guests for blessings while I carried Mia around the ladies. It was quite a task carrying "little' Mia around who's not so little anymore but quite heavy. Its no wonder people do their mandi belawat when the baby is 100 days old and not 8 months old...hehehe

Everyone was then escorted outside for tea, coffee & light refreshments. I was happy to be able to be with all my loved ones before the holy month of Ramadhan. A great time to ask for forgiveness so our fasting will be more meaningful. Mia will be 9 months soon....and she'll be celebrating her first raya. I'm absolutely excited..

Busy Bee

In the midst of preparing for the function,
I was still able to shop for a swimsuit for you.

Dear Princess,

This week has been such a hectic week for mummy. I have been preparing for your Majlis Mandi Belawat & Bedzikir. First things first mummy had to decide what you were going to wear and time was running out. Luckily I found this website selling christening dresses based in the US and do international shipping. I read that we would receive your dress on time but I wasn't really counting on it. So on the 4th of August I placed the order and believe it or not, I recieved the parcel yesterday. I tried the dress on you and I must say, u look like an angel in it.

I have also sorted out the gifts for the guests. Daddy is making paper bags with our intials on and Grandma has found the shop thats able to sell us 120 tins of Redondo biscuits as gifts. Your Auntie Sarimah was nice enough to 'sedekah' bunga telurs to add into the gift bag. I have been moving furniture to make space for the lovely ladies who will be doing the dzikir. I think daddy will help with the carpets later on. Mummy has also sorted out your photographer. Your Uncle David will be covering your function on that day and hopefully you will be able to meet his little son, Adam and his wife, Auntie Sidah.

I have also sorted out the catering for the day. We will be having Mee Goreng, Kelupis with Chicken Curry, Assorted cakes from ur Nini Nani & some from Auntie Sarinah as well as Curry puffs and Satay which was a sedekah from your Auntie Mama. Four more days before your function and mummy has invited your relatives from both mummy's side as well as daddy's side. Auntie Sarinah was nice enough to message your daddy's aunties and uncles. I hope all goes well.

xoxo
