Seven Months Old Today

My 7 month old Baby Girl

My sweet Mia,

You are officially 7 months old today. My oh my time is flying by too fast. You woke up and started clapping by yourself this morning. I think you know its your 7th month birthday today. Either that or you know its my pay day and it's time for a new toy.

You have grown from being a healthy happy baby into a chubby curious little one. For the past month you have accomplished many things my love. You started eating a month ago and so far we are still on feeding you chicken porridge and mashed apples. Your Grandma made something special for you last week though, mashed apples & pears with a little bit of rice. When you have that in the late afternoons, it really fills you up.

You have now mastered crawling and clapping hands and its all you've been doing all day. Mummy has yet to teach you how to wave though. Nowadays, you just want to stand up. while holding onto something. Everyone is saying that you might start walking sooner than expected. You also like banging things together. That's all you do when you are in your high-chair entertaining yourself while mummy is cooking.

I love you my little angel!!!

Busy Sunday

Yesterday left me Mia feeling completely exhausted today. It was the most busiest weekend ever. We attended Filya and Sheherol's bersanding ceremony at Polo club, dashed home for a quick shower then on to Alai's house to celebrate Mokhtar's 11th birthday then go home only to get dressed to go out again to have dinner with my family at Nyonya to celebrate Father's Day. I felt quite guilty because it was Father's Day but we did not spend much quality time with Mia's Daddy. I hope I can make it up to him this Sunday instead.

The wedding was the first one that Mia has ever attended. It was nice to be surrounded by so many friends and family in one room. I saw old faces and met new ones too. I think that this will be the first and last wedding for Mia for at least a couple of more months. The timing of the wedding functions coincides with Mia's lunch time nap so she was quite cranky at the wedding. Although we were indoors (with air-conditioner) Mia was still hot and uncomfortable. Luckily I put on her just a cotton dress. Nevertheless, I think Mia had a great time at the wedding, seeing new faces and being fussed over.

After the wedding, we went to pick up some lunch for Daddy and quickly met up with Mia's Auntie Mama & Uncle Jack. They decided to kidnap Mia for a short while and bring her shopping. These two sweet people bought Mia an early "Mandi Belawat gift", well two actually. A beautiful white gold Pendant & necklace set and a bangle. Thank you to the beautiful mama and handsome papa-to-be. We now have another Bangle to Mia's collection. A latest craze for her. Whenever I put a bangle or bracelet on her, she will just lift up her hand trying to show it off to everyone. Its so adorable, it cracks me up. Auntie Mama is getting more bigger by the minute. Baby Heff is already 3.5kg in her tummy. I'm sure Mia is as excited as I am to see her new cousin. "Hurry up Heff"!

Around 4pm we made our way to Mokhtar's birthday party. It started at 2.30pm and we got there two hours later. I felt terrible for being late. The kids played a few games and so did the adults. Well, we played one game, Pin the tail on the Donkey. It was hilarious to see adults pinning the tail on the donkey and we still got it wrong...haha. We had munchies and Mr.Baker's chocolate cake. All in all, it was a great afternoon.

"Like babies like mommies"

When we got home, we rested for a while. I changed Mia and fed her then took a shower. We then made our way to Nyonya to meet Mum, Bapa and the rest. By this time, I was exhausted and Mia seemed sleepy too. But as soon as she saw the grandparents, aunties and uncles, her face lit up and she was wide awake again. Dinner was yummy and company was great!

Dream a little Dream

My Little Princess

Since Baby Mia turned 6 months old, I have noticed a few changes in her character and her routine. She's crawling all over the place now and is just too eager to learn to stand. If I'm lying next to her, she starts grabbing on to me for support, pushes herself up and stands on her two chubby legs.

Her sleep pattern is all messed up...she has started dreaming and starts smiling in her sleep and sometimes starts doing some sort of baby karate. Her bad dreams make her wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes only 2 times, but other times she can wake up around 5-6 times a night. Though she doesn't wake up and play, she does wake up and hunts for my breastmilk. I figure that by doing that, its her sense of security. This is the reason why she sleeps with us now. A bad move, yes I know. On some nights when she falls asleep I would put her down in her cot in her room but two hours later she can be heard crying. When I look in on her, she would be sitting up right crying her eyes out and reaching out her arms. I hope she grows out of the separation anxiety stage soon.

I can proudly say my little munchkin is a "Kabal" baby. She definitely has a high tolerance for pain. She bumped her head yesterday and her nanny said she didn't cry at all. She just got up and continued playing in her play pen. In the evenings when we play with her in my room, we would just let her free on the mattress on the floor. She crawls towards anything interesting for her in sight. Besides the usual remote control & mobile phone, lately what has caught her interest are bottles, especially her daddy's 100 plus bottles and those silky labels on the pillows. It's funny how some items she's usually engrossed with are things that can be found around the house. It seems like buying all those educational toys are only useful for a couple of months.

On mummy & daddy's anniversary, we all dressed up and had a lovely family dinner at the Presendential Room at Rizqun. Azimah did a great job organizing the dinner. I dressed Mia up in one of her dresses from her Grandad Chan and she looked absolutely adorable! My little princess is all grown up.
