Majlis Mandi Belawat & Berdzikir

Alhamdullillah yesterday's event went well. It turned out to be a wonderful day surrounded by close friends & family. Honestly speaking, I had a fantastic time. I was happy. My in laws were there, my family was there, even my grandmother was able to attend. Mia did not cry one bit which made the day even better.

Friday & Saturday were spent doing last minute preps for Sunday. My beloved & I set up the carpets that my mama so generously lent to us in the lounge area on Friday then on Saturday, Mama, Ka'inah and the little munchkins came over to put the gifts into the gifts bags. It was nice having them around making the house feel filled in. Mama then ordered Pizza delivery for everyone for dinner. It just comes to show that even a last minute organized event can be done if everyone chips in a little with their time and effort. Thanks to My mummy, my Mama, my beautiful sister in laws, my sister, my nieces, my hubby...and the rest of the family, the event turned out to be perfect.

While getting ready....

.....Bapa babysat for me...

All done

Sunday morning I quickly dashed to the bridal shop to get last minute costume jewellery for my attire. I then got ready and had Auntie Zaleha do my make up. David Cheok arrived later on. Having David and Auntie Zaleha in the same room brought back memories of my Nikah day. It was nice to get pampered once in a while. Once we were done, my better half, my baby and myself made our way downstairs to the berdzikir ceremony. My beloved brought Mia around the male guests for blessings while I carried Mia around the ladies. It was quite a task carrying "little' Mia around who's not so little anymore but quite heavy. Its no wonder people do their mandi belawat when the baby is 100 days old and not 8 months old...hehehe

Everyone was then escorted outside for tea, coffee & light refreshments. I was happy to be able to be with all my loved ones before the holy month of Ramadhan. A great time to ask for forgiveness so our fasting will be more meaningful. Mia will be 9 months soon....and she'll be celebrating her first raya. I'm absolutely excited..
